J.P. Taravella High School
Band & Orchestra
Wish List

The J.P. Taravella Band & Orchestra have always relied on the goodwill of the community and of the parents in order to run a smooth operation that provides an enriching experience to the lives of hundreds of students. Because the great majority of our budget for the year is fundraised through the help of the Band and Orchestra parents, we sometimes find ourselves in need of certain items that can essentially be called our "wish list."
Our wish list includes but is not limited to the following items. If you can help by donating one, or if you have a contact who might be able to help us find these items in reasonably good shape and at a reasonable cost, please contact us as soon as possible. We appreciate all help.
Wish List
-
The Band/Orchestra Office is in need of a good Fax machine. The current machine (with phone) is broken and not able to be fixed.
(Wish granted, thanks to the Kathryn Fuller family)
-
A drill and drill bit set of good quality, including concrete and metal drill bits.
(Wish granted, thanks to the Brin family)
-
Computer speakers of superior quality,
to be used for our new computerized accompaniment software (to help prepare
kids for solo & ensemble, or to simply help in practicing rhythms and
scales).
-
Paper towels. We need lots of
them, as the kids are always going through them at record paces.
-
A 24-foot truck. It is about time that a program as
successful as that of Taravella's had its own equipment truck, especially
important to the Marching Band because it can be used to carry equipment
for football games and contests, but essentially useful for any trip we
may undertake in which the Band or Orchestra needs to bring instruments
and equipment. This is obviously a long-range goal, but if anyone
knows of a used truck being sold anywhere for a reasonable price, it is
worth looking into.
-
Various office supplies (pencils, letter size memo pads, scotch tape for tape dispensers).
