The J.P. Taravella Band and Orchestra Program is made up of a group of young adults the likes of which you very rarely hear about. These students are some of the most dedicated young men and women to be found anywhere; they are focused on achievement and sacrifice much to give to the program. They have pride in their organization, and they strive to be "good, better, best" as our Program's motto states.

    The JPT Band and Orchestra have won many competitions over the years, received Superior Ratings at the FBA Marching Festival since the school opened in 1981, have represented the school and the State of Florida on three different tours of Europe, and a participant of the 2005 New Year's Day Parade-London. In February of 2003, the JPT Wind Orchestra was invited to perform at the prestigious Bands of America National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The Wind Orchestra was also selected to perform on the “President’s Concert” for the 2006 Florida Music Educators Conference.  In December of 2007, members of the band will travel to Rome, Italy, and perform at the inaugural American Bands in Rome New Years Day festivities.

    As you may know, the arts continuously take a big hit when it comes to funding. The very best of students are sometimes forgotten in an age that has come to believe that the arts are a frill and simply do not matter to the well-being of a student. Because of this we find ourselves having to look to the community for support for the next school year, in order to continue our successful reputation.

    Enclosed you will find a breakdown of what we can offer at each donation level. Whether it is $5 or $5000, we gratefully accept all the help you are willing to give. If you would like to volunteer your time, we would love that too. If you would like to volunteer items, we will find uses for everything we receive. This organization is blessed with some of the best students in the world…please help us provide them a sense of family and belonging, and reward them with a great education in music. They will have experiences and memories that they will cherish their entire lives.

 Any donation of $10,000 or more will receive all of the above plus a “command” performance of the Band or Orchestra (dates and location permitting), lifetime passes to the FBA marching festival held in early November, as well as a standing invitation to every band and orchestra banquet.
