CONGRATULATIONS to all three orchestras
for an OUTSTANDING showing at the District Music Assessment. For
the first time in Broward County history, an Orchestra Program had three
ensembles receive Superior ratings and qualify for State Festival.
That is, of course, until a little mishap regarding one of the orchestras
that is in the process of being debated. Regardless, each orchestra
was SUPERIOR and unmatched.

CONGRATULATIONS to all four bands for
an OUTSTANDING showing at the District Music Assessment. For the
first time in Broward County history, a Band Program had three ensembles
receive Superior ratings and qualify for State Festival. In addition,
JPT is only one of three programs state-wide to have three bands receive
Superior ratings at Festival, and the only band state-wide to enter four
Band programs. The Concert Band was one sub-category away from receiving
a Superior rating as well. Each one of our four bands received Superior
ratings from at least two judges. Here are the full
results.

Band Camp will be held Monday, 18 August
through Friday, 22 August, from 8am to 5pm. All first-time JPT Band
members are required to attend. Failure to attend will result in
a schedule change out of band. In addition, all veteran members of
the Program who are in Wind Orchestra
or Wind Symphony
are required to attend, as well as those who have committed to the Marching
Band from the Symphonic Band
and Concert Band
classes, and all first-time members. This year is going to be great.

There is going to be a fundraiser at
Sweet Tomatoes on University Drive, on Tuesday, 22 July from
5pm to 8pm. You must have the flier that was passed out during band
camp, and if you need another one, the Rehearsal Hall will be open on Mondays
from around noon until around 9pm so you can pick one up before then. (25
