Taravella Band & Orchestra program; its history, successes and upcoming events. As you will discover, the JPT Band & Orchestra is one of the finest instrumental programs in Florida, a distinction that has been achieved thanks in large part to the hard work and dedication of students and parents that have come before you. It is here that our students make lifelong friends, see incredible sights, travel far and wide, and perform for people who love everything they do. We pride ourselves in being educators, not only for our students, but also for students and directors outside our JPT family. Music and the arts are not a frill: they are the necessary portion of a formula that makes us well-rounded human beings. We understand fully that many of our Band & Orchestra students will not go on to major in music. One does not need to be a music major to realize the impact that music can have on a person once they have graduated from high school and college. Music and the Arts are your gateway to an understanding of life in a greater sense. Through participation you will love and hate, laugh and cry, be raised to incredible heights by beautiful music, and sunk into the deepest depths by the anguish of a saddened composer.
